My passion for ministry is to help students grow in their faith in and knowledge of God. In a world that is increasingly hostile toward Christ and His church, student ministry is growing more and more important. I’m a major fan of using apologetics to teach students that they can be confident in their beliefs. The word Apologetics comes from the Greek word Apologia, which means, “to give a defense of.” The field itself really focuses on what Peter teaches when he writes 1 Peter 3:15.
I grew up in Oklahoma and when I was 12 years old, I accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at a camp called God and Country camp. It was a little camp my youth ministry put on to introduce the new 7 th graders into the student ministry by having some of the juniors and seniors act as the “sponsors”. After high school, I attended Oklahoma Baptist University where I graduated in 2017 with my B.A. in Religion with a Biblical Studies Emphasis (it’s a lot easier to say I was a Bible Major) with a minor in Apologetics. In May of 2024 I will be graduating from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with my Master of Divinity and a graduate certificate in Apologetics.
While at OBU, I met my wife, LuToria, and soon thereafter, we got married. In nine years of marriage, LuToria and I have been blessed with two boys, Isaiah (6) and Elias (4). LuToria and I have also had the opportunity to go on several different mission trips both domestic and international. I am a sports fan and will watch basically anything you put in front of me. I typically cheer for any DFW area team like the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, Stars, and FC Dallas, but the college team I cheer for is Texas A&M. Aside from sports, I also enjoy reading fantasy novels, playing video games, and building PC’s.
