On Sunday, April 25th, we celebrated the miraculous work of the Lord at a Baptism Service at Redeemer. These services are a sweet reminder of what the Lord has done in the life of each follower of Jesus. The testimony below is from Heather Lytle.
God’s Hand on my Life
I’m being baptized on Sunday!
I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember. I had the blessing of being raised in a Christian home and having the life of a faithful follower of Jesus modeled for me by my parents and grandparents. God’s hand has covered me through every season:
● Baptised as a baby in the Methodist church
● Confirmed as a 6th grader
● Faith became my own in middle school. Chad & Sue Cravens gave me my first Bible that I began to read faithfully.
● Understood “assurance of salvation” in high school as a counselor-in-training at summer camp. I could never earn my way to heaven. Jesus bridged the gap of sin so that I could live forever with him.
I can truly say that I am being sanctified, understanding more and more about what it means to follow Christ. In my most recent season, I am learning that He alone has control of situations, and He can be trusted with today and my future. I have felt the joy of the Lord in a hard season...a true fruit of the Spirit.
Jesus is my Lord. He is good. I’m blessed to take this step of publicly showing that I’m a follower of Jesus!
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7
