Baptism is a symbol of the new life believers have in Christ. This is Tinsley Vick’s public profession of faith in Jesus from her baptism on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Before Jesus saved me I always heard my family and teachers say spectacular things about Jesus but never thought about following Him personally. Last summer, I came to trust Jesus through a book my family and I were reading called “The Little Pilgrim’s Progress”. One night we were reading a chapter about Christiana leaving her little sister, Innocence, at the King’s House In the Valley where she would be cared for and become wise and walk the path on her own. Then this one sentence really stood out to me and it said “When they are tired, the Good Prince carries them tenderly in His arms.” When I heard that sentence my face lit up and I said “I want to be carried.” My mom asked “Who do you want to carry you?” I said “The Good Prince.” And she asked me “Who is the Good Prince?” I replied, “Jesus!”
That night I decided to follow Jesus because I wanted to be carried tenderly by the Good Prince for all the days of my life. Jesus can carry me because He lived the perfect life and I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and took the punishment for me. I also believe that God raised Him from the dead and then a few weeks later He ascended to heaven and promised that the Holy Spirit would come... and He did! Jesus also promised He would come back in the same way He left. I believe that because the Bible is true.
Some of my favorite verses are.
Romans 3:23 “For all have fallen short of the glory of God.” and Romans 6:26 “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
These verses sum up the Bible. If this is all you read, then you know what the whole Bible is about.
After trusting Jesus I can tell people about Him and share my story with people who have never heard of Jesus and to help them come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He’s helped me through many hard and difficult things since July 25,2023. I have felt lighter and happier ever since I decided to follow Jesus.
